Patriots Win In Brady’s Return

New England Patriots v San Francisco 49ers

As you probably heard this was Tom Brady’s first away game versus the San Francisco 49ers, his hometown team. The amount of old pictures and video of a young Tom Brady could be formed into a museum. In regards to the game they played pretty well. Brady had a solid game completing 24-40 passes for 280 yards and 4 touchdowns. Tom talked about playing in the bay area saying, “It was very cool. It doesn’t get any better than that. To have the first chance to ever do that was very special. I felt it in pregame warmup and it carried right to the last play of the game. It was pretty great. They have a great organization, they always have. They inspired a lot of kids here in the Bay Area in my time growing up, and I was one of them.” I was listening to the game on the radio and it honestly felt like it was a patriots home game. Every play for the Patriots had cheers, especially during touchdowns. Also, this was a breakout game for rookie wideout Malcolm Mitchell who scored his first career touchdown.  He had 4 catches for 98 yards. Brady threw a 56-yard bomb to Mitchell and it really boosted the Patriots ahead of the 49ers. Also, the running game was on point with the return of Dion Lewis. LeGarrette Blount once again had an awesome game with 19 carries for 124 yards. The defense was alright but the linebackers are a real weak point with the departure of Jamie Collins. They can rush the passer but opposing teams have attacked them when they are back in coverage. It was good to see that Rob Ninkovich Kyle Van Noy and Dont’a Hightower sacked 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Now it’s on to the Jets and the road to the Super Bowl continues.
