Unlike Tuesday night versus the Flyers the Bruins were victorious in a shootout beating the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1. It was a defensive battle with the 1st goal of the game being scored at 7:37 in the second by Noah Hanifan. It was his second goal of the season. Then with less than 2 minutes left in the third period Torey Krug put one last Cam Ward to tie the game. The goal was his second in the season. Then after overtime the game went to a shootout with David Pastrnak dangling for days and put the Bruins ahead in the shootout. The Bruins had stellar goaltending from someone not named Tuukka Rask. Anton Khudobin had 29 saves and stopped Jeff Skinner in the shootout to secure the victory for the Bruins.”He deserves a lot of accolades tonight, the way he played, the way he responded after being out such a long time,” Bruins coach Claude Julien said about Khudobin’s play. It wasn’t the best game for the Bruins but they pulled out a victory. This notion was confirmed with some comments by foreward Matt Beleskey saying, “I don’t think anyone here thinks they played their best game tonight, but to get the two points is huge.” Next up for the Bruins is the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night.
