I’m sorry but we shouldn’t be losing to the Carolina Hurricanes. The Bruins lost to the Hurricanes 3-2 in overtime. Ryan Spooner started off the scoring in the first period notching his 5th goal of the season. Hopefully, this will increase Spooner’s trade value as he needs to get off this team. It is clear that Claude doesn’t like him and that he doesn’t like the coaching staff. Then in the second period, Brad Marchand brought the score to 2-0. It was on the power play and was his 1oth goal of the season.

Jordan Staal scored the first goal for the Hurricanes it was his 7th of the season. Austin Czarnik lost the puck and Staal took it up the ice and put it past Anton Khudobin. Then the Carolina Hurricanes had defenseman Justin Faulk score a goal in the third period to tie the game in the third period. It was his 7th goal of the season. Then in overtime Teuvo Teravainen scored his 9th goal of the season to win the game.

The Bruins came out firing but were unable to keep the lead. It was a game they easily could have won. Goalie Anton Khudobin is now 1-5-1 on the season. Khudobin had a rough game with only 20 saves but that’s still not an excuse to blow a 2-0 lead. David Backes echoed this sentiment after the game saying, “We leave here not enjoying a flight home rather than what could have been if we do what we need to do with a two-goal lead.”

Next up for the Bruins is the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday.
