After a nail-biting game on Christmas King James needed some royal rest. The Detroit Pistons took advantage and defeated the Cavaliers 106-90.
Tobias Harris had 21 points off the bench for the Pistons. The win snapped a 5 game losing streak for Detroit. “Any time you go through a stretch like that, you’re just fighting for a win,” Harris said. “It could change a lot, so hopefully we take this one and move forward and continue to build some consistency.”
The Cavaliers had ok from their big 2 since Lebron can’t handle back to back games. Kyrie Irving had 18 points 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Kevin Love had 17 points and was a beast on the boards for Cleveland with 14 rebounds. LeBron has missed three games this season and all have ended in losses. They didn’t have the lead the whole game and I feel this has to go back to Lebron being the least clutch NBA star in the history of the league. Also, Kyrie Irving had the excuses flying after the game, “They haven’t played since Friday and they’ve been sitting here waiting for us. Give them credit, because that’s what they are supposed to do. They knew we were flying in here after the Golden State game, and they were resting up and waiting for us. They jumped on us early, but it might have been different if they were coming off a back-to-back and we had two days of rest.” I’m pretty sure it would be different as that is an entirely different scenario Kyrie. Anytime the Cavs lose its a win in my book as I will eternally hate LeBron.
The Cavs play the Celtics at home on Thursday night.
P.S. I pray that somehow Larry Bird or Kevin McHale will just clothesline LeBron one of these days.
