Blue Jackets Defeat Bruins 4-3

Wow, that game was incredible to watch. Even though the Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Boston Bruins 4-3 it was an amazing game.

It was really a tale of three periods all had a giant shift in momentum. We start in the first where it was all Columbus. The Blue Jackets scored three straight goals and scored 2 of those goals 51 seconds apart. Notable goals came from Scotty Hartnell who scored 9th goal of the season. Also Defenseman Seth Jones scored his 6th goal of the year. It seemed as if the Bruins just weren’t in the game. There was no energy and some may say no effort but then it all changed.

At 11:05 in the first David Backes scored his 9th goal of the season. It was an absolute snipe.

Then 55 seconds later Austin Czarnik put one past Sergei Bobrovsky for his 5th of the season. The Bruins were somehow only down one goal entering the second period.

The second period was all Bruins. The energy the effort it was definitely all there. Then at  18:26 in the second period David Krejci roofed one past Bobrovsky for his 7th goal of the season.

Then we go to the third period it was great to watch but one team had to score. Colin Miller was playing a great game. He was peppering the goaltender and playing great on the powerplay. Then it all went to shit as he got called for Cross Checking. Then we had Nick Foligno score his 11th goal of the season. Then the Bruins had a great opportunity after Seth Jones got penalized for cross-checking on a terrible hit on Austin Czarnik. The Bruins were getting great shots on Bobrovsky but none could get by the goaltender. The Bruins didn’t score the rest of the game. Speaking of Sergei Bobrovsky he had a phenomenal game stopping 37 shots. The win was also the Blue Jackets 13th straight and if they could capture another one it would be a franchise record.

Next up for the Bruins is the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night.
