Westbrook Continues to Dominate: Leads Thunder Past Heat

Russell Westbrook is a superstar. He once again proved that once again as he led the Oklahoma City Thunder past the Miami Heat 106-94.

Westbrook had 29 points 17 rebounds and 11 assists. He is such a freak athlete that even as a point guard he can dominate the boards. Westbrook joined Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson as the only two players to have 30 triple doubles in a calendar year. The triple-double was also Westbrook’s 15th of the season. Also, the Thunder had Enes Kanter come off the bench to score 19 points and had 8 rebounds. OKC dominated the paint outscoring the Heat 58-32. Thunder coach Billy Donovan spoke about Westbrook’s dominate play saying, “They see the numbers and what he does in games. They don’t get a chance to see behind the scenes. The one thing I admire about him is he practices every single day. He has great energy every single day. He comes to every shootaround and he practices. He puts the time in and that’s the reason why he’s as successful as he is.”

The Thunder are now 12-3 on the season when Westbrook has a triple double.  The Thunder play the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday to conclude a two-game road trip.
