Warriors Blowout Cavs to Even Season Series

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 126-91 in an all-around dominant performance on Monday night.

This game was never in question for the Warriors as they led the entire game and never slowed down. Golden State jumped out to an early lead to start the game and ended the first quarter with a comfortable 36-22 lead.

By halftime, the Warriors had upped their lead to 78-49 and with that many first half points, you could just tell their offense was running at full steam. Kevin Durant led the team with 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists while Curry added 14 points and 10 assists at the break. LeBron led his team with 16 points at the break but didn’t have much help from his teammates as they were ice cold in this game.

The news got worse for Cleveland to start the second half when they found out that Kevin Love would not be able to return to the game because of back pains. Golden State took advantage of the discouraged Cavaliers and never took their foot off the gas pedal. The Warriors increased their lead to 95-71 by the end of the third quarter and seemingly everything was moving in their direction.

Things never changed for the Warriors, finishing the game with a ridiculous 126-91 score as Cleveland could never find a rhythm to make any kind of a comeback. LeBron James finished the game with 20 points and 8 rebounds but didn’t have enough help to stop the Warriors high caliber offense.

For the Warriors, everyone was getting involved and scoring points as the bench player got more minutes than usual because of the ridiculously high score. Klay Thompson had a game-high 26 points, Kevin Durant finished with 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, Steph Curry added 20 points and 11 assists while Draymond Green contributed his 17th career triple-double with 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists. Andre Iguodala contributed 14 points and 5 assists off the bench while Shaun Livingston turned in a decent performance as well, scoring 13 points in the game.

Golden State definitely got their vengeance after a tough Christmas day loss to this team as they were able to toy with the Cavaliers this time on their way to one of their most dominant showings of the season.
