The Golden State Warriors came out firing and they were rewarded with a 118-98 victory over the Orlando Magic.
Steph Curry had 27 points 6 assists and 4 rebounds. He was 7-13 from 3 point range. The other splash brother, Klay Thompson had 21 points and 5 rebounds and also made seven three pointers. The Magic only made seven three pointers total as a team. The Warriors entered halftime with the game tied but they came out of halftime and turned on the switch. “Third quarter was great,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “It seems to be the time when we pick up our defense and it translates into some transition hoops and 3-pointers.” The win was the 7th straight victory for the Warriors.
They had to deal with a early noon eastern time start which was a first for the team since 1995. “It just challenges you mentally,” Curry said of the early start. “We were talking about it in the locker room before the game. It is early, but it doesn’t matter what time the game is, we have go out and get a win.”
The Warriors travel to Miami to play the Heat tonight.
