The Boston Bruins are sticking with Claude Julien but he is definitly making it hard for hime to come back next season. The Bruins played horribly on Sunday getting blown out by the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-1.
The only goal of the game was scored by David Krejci who now has 11 goals this season. The game also got worse as the team was forced to pull goalie Tuukka Rask due to injury. Zane McIntyre replaced him in the middle of the second period. There was also an interesting moment at the end of the first period as play was stopped due to dangerous on ice conditions. The Bruins have now lost 4 straight games.
The Pittsburgh Penguins seem to be on a roll.Connor Sheary had two goals for the Penguins to extend his season total to 17 goals.”It’s fun to play against your hometown team,” said Sheary, a native of Winchester, Massachusetts. “There’s a lot of people watching and you kind of get up easy for these games. It’s fun to be a part of.” Also, Sidney Crosby dangled his way to his 28th goal of the season. The Penguins also had fantastic goaltending as Matt Murray stopped 44 shots. This was the fourth straight win for the Penguins.
The Bruins will try to bounce back as they return to Boston to face the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday.
