Congrats Boston Bruins you won an NHL game. The Bruins faced off against the Detroit Red Wings and came out on top in overtime 4-3.
Shoutout Jimmy Hayes he was back from vacation as he played in his first game since January 8th. The game started off on a good note with Defenseman Kevan Miller scoring his first goal of the season. Also, Brad Marchand had a great game scoring two goals to extend his season total to 19 goals. The game was also goalie Tuukka Rask’s first since being forced to exit a game due to a migraine and vision issues. Rask had 23 saves and was actually able to play a complete game. Finally, David Pastrnak got off the shneid and scored the game-winning goal in overtime. The goal was his first since December 14th. He now has 20 goals this season.
“There’s not much you can do. You’ve got to play the right way,” Pastrnak said. “Obviously it’s always going to be back in your head, but like I said, guys help me and try to support me all the time. But also when I had that stretch with a lot of goals I said that might happen that you won’t score for a couple games. It was more than a couple, but it’s nice to get the one and especially with the win.”
“It was just a matter of time,” Boston coach Claude Julien said. “It’s been a while and I think that he has been feeling the pressure and hopefully that’s a step in the right direction for him.”
The Detroit Red Wings actually had phenomenal goalie play even though they gave up 4 goals. Jared Coreau stopped an incredible 45 shots. The Red Wings had goals from Andreas Athanasiou (11) Mike Green (9) and Tomas Tatar (11).
The Bruins look to continue this positive play versus the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night.
