In case you haven’t heard, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots have vindicated deflate gate by winning their fifth title in an epic comeback for the ages.
The game started like no New Englander would have thought it would with the Falcons jumping out to and early lead. There was no scoring in the opening quarter but Atlanta took charge in the second, scoring 21 of their 28 points. It started with a 5-yard run by Devonta Freeman and continued with a 19-yard pass to tight end, Austin Hooper. Tom Brady only made matters worse by throwing a pick-six to Robert Alford and all of a sudden, all hope was lost for New England.
The Patriots managed to tack on a field goal to end the half at 21-3, but the deficit was seemingly impossible to make up. Things just continued to go Atlanta’s way at the start of the second half when Tevin Coleman caught a 6-yard touchdown, increasing their lead to 28-3. New England finally struck end zone after that when James White caught a 5-yard pass, but Gostkowski missed the extra point.
There was no need to worry though because the Patriots weren’t done yet. They tacked on another field goal and then immediately after, Brady found Amendola in the end zone and James White capitalized on the two-point conversion, and the comeback suddenly seemed real. After Matt Ryan fumbled on the Falcons’ next possession, the Pats took advantage and gave the ball to James White again at the one-yard line and then completed the pass to Amendola for the two-point conversion.
Suddenly, the game was tied and with all the momentum going in the Patriots direction, things were starting to look really bad for Atlanta with the first ever Super Bowl Overtime coming up. New England won the coin toss and didn’t waste any time driving down the field and giving the ball to James White to drove it home for his third touchdown of the game, and another Patriots Super Bowl victory.
The Patriots dynasty continues and will continue to reign and after winning their fifth Super Bowl in the most epic comeback in the history of American Sports, they show no signs of slowing down. There is no argument anymore who the best coach (Belichick) and quarterback (Brady) of all time are as each of the surpassed the previous best with this victory. The fans in New England will enjoy and remember this win for a long time to come.
