Bruins Blow By Canadiens 4-0

That was just an awesome game to watch. The Boston Bruins were firing on all cylinders. They defeated the Montreal Canadiens 4-0.

The game started off with a lightweight bout. Torey Krug squared off against Montreal forward Andrew Shaw. Krug gave Shaw a concussion with a big hit and Shaw ended up out for 14 games. Even though it may have not had any knockout blows it is always great to see some fighting in today’s NHL.

Defenseman Adam McQuaid blew one past Carey Price for his 2nd goal of the season. Bruce Cassidy has really gotten the defenseman involved in the offensive zone and you can see that with all the goals the defenseman have been scoring since he became interim Head Coach.

Then in the second period, Zdeno Chara dangled his way to his 5th goal of the season. The Bruins continued to get pressure in Montreal’s zone and it led to scoring goals. Then with five minutes to remaining in the period, David Krejci netted his 14th goal of the season. David Backes had a nasty sauce to Krejci to assist on the goal.

Finally in the third period the “American Sniper,” struck once again as he rifled one into a wide open net for his 8th goal of the season.

At the end of the third period, the game started to get chippy as it seems to always happen in these games. Kevan Miller ended up in a heavyweight bout with winger Michael McCarron when he tripped up goaltender Tuukka Rask. Miller stood up for his teammate and he spent the rest of the game in the locker room.

Speaking of Tuuka Rask. He finally beat the Canadiens at TD Garden for his first career regular season home win against Montreal. Rask stopped all 25 shots he faced to secure his fifth shutout of the season and his 36th of his career.

Bruce Cassidy is now 3-0 as Head Coach and is just really bringing the best out of this team.

“I hope they’re confident. They should be,” Cassidy said. “They’ve played well and rebounded when stretches haven’t gone well or got a goal scored against us.”

The Bruins are now on their “bye week” as they don’t play until Sunday.
